Botox Treatment

Reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines for up to 4 months.

Atlanta Integrative Wellness Centers offer BOTOX® Cosmetic to help patients reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines for up to 4 months. BOTOX® Cosmetic is also used to treat excessive perspiration, migraines, facial spasms, and pain caused by eye injuries or other medical conditions.

Botox is ideal for adults whose wrinkles are so deep they can’t be flattened out by smiling or frowning—the telltale sign of dynamic lines. It’s also ideal for those who’ve developed laugh lines (also known as facial wrinkles) due to raising the brows up high or furrowing the forehead often.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. BOTOX® Cosmetic is also FDA approved for the treatment of severe underarm sweating when BOTOX® is the only reasonable alternative. BOTOX® treatments are also used to treat excessive sweating of the palms, soles of the feet and underarms.

More About BOTOX® Treatment

BOTOX® is FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A, which temporarily reduces the appearance of wrinkles by blocking nerve signals to injected muscles. This allows weakened but still-functional facial muscles to rest and relax. It can be used for therapeutic purposes as well as cosmetic treatments and is FDA approved for therapeutic use in the treatment of strabismus, blepharospasm, cervical dystonia, glabellar lines, and forehead hyperhidrosis.

In Cosmetic BOTOX® treatments, a small amount of botulinum toxin is injected into the face to improve the appearance of dynamic lines caused by facial expressions such as frown lines between the eyebrows, vertical lines on the forehead, and crow’s feet.

Prior to BOTOX® treatment, the doctor will check your skin for signs of infection or skin problems. You’ll receive a small injection of numbing medication to your forehead, and the BOTOX® will be injected in small doses. If you’re receiving BOTOX® under your eyes, no numbing medicine is necessary because it’s almost impossible for you to feel any pain or discomfort during BOTOX® injections there.

Once BOTOX® treatment is complete, it’s important to protect your face. When you go out in the sun, wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Stay out of tanning beds and never use self-tanners or sunless tanning creams until BOTOX® wears off. Not only can these cause discoloration issues, BOTOX® may not be as effective if you’ve been using self-tanners or other products on your skin.
