Types of Diabetic Neuropathy

This nerve problem is also a less common type of neuropathy. 

Focal neuropathy, most commonly, occurs in the torso, head, or legs. People are suddenly affected by this nerve problem. When focal neuropathy starts affecting the legs, it can result in pain in the specific location of the legs. People suffering from focal neuropathy may even experience abdominal pain, which is often wrongly understood as a heart attack.

The cranial nerves are the nerves that are connected to the brainstem or brain of an individual. These nerves mainly affect the areas such as the eyes and face. 

Cranial neuropathy can be divided into a number of types. Broadly, all the different cranial neuropathies fall under two categories, namely, auditory neuropathy and optic neuropathy. Auditory neuropathy affects the cranial nerves that are responsible for hearing and carry signals from ear to brain. On the other hand, optic neuropathy affects the optic nerve that is responsible for vision and carries signals from the eyes to the brain. The different cranial neuropathy types are:

  • Bell’s palsy – It is a condition in which the seventh cranial nerve or the facial nerve is affected.
  • Third nerve palsy – It is a condition in which the third cranial nerve gets affected. This nerve is responsible for managing the muscles that control the movement of your eyes.

If you can control the intake of your carbohydrates, then you will be progressively putting efforts to control and regulate the blood sugar level. #4: Alcohol Should be Avoided to Control Neuropathic Conditions

A multivitamin named Metanx is also recommended for patients with diabetic neuropathy. This medication consists of Vitamin B6, B12, and folate/B9. 

#6: Too Much of Nutrients can also Lead to Neuropathy Conditions
